believe me, I'd much rather be assembling this fine sled instead of unseizing department store bikes that people stored under their deck for the past 3 years.

Nice!
This is what started the whole rebuild. I was doing maintenance, and pulled the rear suspension apart. The bearings at the chain/seat stay were shot completely. The others were pretty gritty... and sloppy.
One thing led to another, and voila... new(ish) bike!

I would be offended if it weren't true... 
I had an E-13 DRS guide, so I opted long ago to keep the front derailleur on. Rarely used, but nice to have when needed.
and yes, it will go excellent with that XL SMC jersey!
