Hello Mountain Biking BC partners,
We are very pleased to announce the completion of phase 1 of the new GPS mapping feature on www.mountainbikingbc.ca which will display your trails on Google maps. Here is an example http://mountainbikingbc.ca/trail/bobsled-mount-fromme
The next step is to upload the GPS data for your trails in GPX format. To get the wheels rolling we are launching a mapping content strategy called “Mission to Map” (please see the attached outline with key target dates). June is the designated month to collect trail content and we want to make it as fun and easy as possible.
If you are already familiar with the content management system (CMS) on the Mountain Biking BC website and have some basic GPS knowledge from using a smart phone or GPS device, you will find the GPX file uploading process to be very simple…as easy as uploading a photo!
At this time I would like to introduce Alastair Fowler, a student at Capilano University, who will be providing support for the Mission to Map content strategy. Over the coming few weeks, Alastair will be in contact with you to help with any questions you may have and to work with you to collect and add new content to the website. Alastair can be contacted by email at email@example.com.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation!
