Dumpster Dive Super-D Oct 24th @ Hartland MTB Park

Trek Bicycle Store and Pro City Racing bring you the 2010 Dumpster Dive Super-D at Hartland Mountain Bike Park.

Sunday October the 24th 2010 @ 9 AM!!

Course description:
For 2010 we will run the same course as the last 2 years.  The course starts at the top of Jelly Roll, through Lumpy pants, a short (but painfull) fire road climb to the top of Who’s yer Daddy, through to Nite Shift, a short fire road descent to the short cut that will drop riders into the Technical training area for the finish.  Expect 90% singletrack and 90% decending but don’t expect to win on a downhill bike.  This course is ideal for a 6″ all-mountain bike. Times will range from 9-15 minutes. See if you can beat the course record of 8:35 set by Jeremy Vosberg in 2009.  » Read more: Dumpster Dive Super-D Oct 24th @ Hartland MTB Park

Victoria Racers Dominate MOMAR Cumberland

New Westminster, BC – September 27, 2010.  The Atmosphere Mind Over Mountain Adventure Race (MOMAR) celebrated the end of their eleventh season this past Saturday, September 25th in Cumberland, with Victoria racers topping the podium.

Todd Nowack of Victoria came in first overall for the 50 km Enduro Course, with a time of 4:21:16. This was Nowack’s seventh MOMAR title, tying him with legendary racer Dave Norona of North Vancouver for most MOMAR overall wins. » Read more: Victoria Racers Dominate MOMAR Cumberland

Harborview Garbage cleanup Saturday, September 25

Harborview Volunteer Garbage Cleanup… this coming Saturday, September 25.

Meet in the Harbourview Road parking lot in Sooke at 9:00 AM. Bring a pack for garbage as we’ll be cleaning up the top of Manuel Quimper. There will also be a group hiking up to Sheilds Lake for more clean-up and a possible boat repair job.
Bring yourself, your bike, a friend, and work gloves and a garbage bag.
Remove garbage, glass etc.
All are welcome. There will be all sorts of user groups out there.
As much time as you can give. It’s ok to come for an hour or whatever.
This is a great opportunity to represent the MTB community, meet some of the other park users and give back a bit for all the users and the land owner. CRD are very grateful that we are doing this. Think of it as a ride that keeps giving.

Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day.

The South Island Mountain Bike Society will be hosting an event for International Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day.

Kids will get to practice skills in the technical training area and then head out on one of three group rides, based on age/ability.

Please take the time to register here so we can provide enough give-aways to the kiddies

Where: Hartland Trails Victoria.
When: Sunday October 3rd, 2010
How: Hmm … don’t know just get there :)
Who: Kids.
Why: uhh.. ’cause it’s fun?
Time: 1:00-4:00pm
Cost: $Free
