NSMB AIRprentice 2010

July 28th, 2010

A bunch of bikes,  a bunch of dudes, a bunch of sweet trails, yes… the 2010 AIRprentice from NSMB!

Again for 2010 it looks like it was a good time was had by all. There was some excellent competition to be had on a great hill (I am told…still have to make it to Silver Star). Congrats goes out to Matt Montandon for winning the top spot, and for either Ian Morrison or Paul Stevens for the second available team spot this year. This is an excellent chance for young up and comers to show their stuff and to get the opportunity to take it to the next level. Thanks NSMB (Cam) and all of the sponsors for putting this on and for backing this sweet competition every year!

For all of the details on the 2010 AIRprentice be sure to check out NSMB.com news page, and to check out the slide shows, check here for part 1 and here for part 2.

Sooke Triathlon volunteers needed on bicycles

July 22nd, 2010

Sooke Triathalon

Sent to VIMB today…

Hello all,
There is a need for some cyclists to help out with the Triathlon on Aug 8th in Sooke. I did it last year and it was fun. The need cyclists to ride in front of the lead runners for each race category. Anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour of riding.
If you can help out go to the website and fill out the form. In the comments section say that you will act as a lead cyclist for the runners, and just leave the drop down selections blank.

Cheers!

Stephen

BICYCLE DREAMS

directed. by Stephen Auerbach

“They are seekers, madmen, and angels hell-bent on riding across America on a bicycle in less than ten days. Eager to push their bodies to the limit, they set out on a daunting 3000-mile odyssey. But what begins as the adventure of a lifetime is transformed in an instant when tragedy strikes the race. These voyagers discover what is truly at stake as they pedal on, praying for the deliverance only the finish line can bring. By journey’s end, some are saved, others are lost, but all learn that the fuel that takes a soul toward its own true destiny is desire.”

Sooke Mountain Cycle Sale!

July 14th, 2010

Sooke Mountain Cycle Banner

This is the Too many high end bikes in stock sale!

From Lorien @ Sooke Mountain Cycle!

“I have to turn these expensive bikes into money as soon as possible.”

For a limited time, I will be selling any bike in Sooke Mountain Cycle worth over one thousand dollars for 17% less than the posted retail price.

That’s like 10% off, plus it’s just like it was before July 1 when all you had to pay tax wise on bikes was 5% GST. These bikes are all backed up by my killer service plan, like every bike I sell.

There are only 2010 models in stock and I have quite a variety to choose from.

This sale will end July 17, so spread the word!

Thanks for the heads up Lorien! Get out there and beat the HST (again).

Mt Washington…What a difference a week makes

Mt Washington Opening Day 2010

Hello All,

Russ Campbell and a few others decided to hit Mt Washington for opening day a few weeks ago. If you remember, Mt Washington received near biblical amounts of snow this winter, and for the first time ever was open for Summer Skiing (June 20 weekend). So you can imagine, the hill with enough snow to be open for late late LATE season skiing and that was to open 2 weeks later for riding, was bound to make for an interesting opening day trip.
