Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day 2012

SIMBS would like to invite you to our 5th annual Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day Event in Victoria and Cobble Hill

When: Sunday, October 14nd, 2012, 1-4 pm

Where: Victoria – Mt. Work-Hartland Regional Park

Cobble Hill – Cleasby Bike Park

Itinerary:

  • 1:00 pm: registration, bike check, skills practice
  • 1:45 pm: guided mountain bike rides for different ability levels
  • 3:15 pm: BBQ, snacks and prizes

This is a great opportunity for you to pass your passion for pedaling on to kids. Plan to go mountain biking on the second Sunday in October – and bring a kid along for the ride! All ages are welcome, from tykes on run bikes to teens. You can pre-register for Cobble Hill or Hartland

We are seeking volunteers for all aspects of the event including ride leaders and assistants. We are also looking for donations such as food and giveaways and prizes for the kids (stickers, t-shirts, bike related gear, etc).

2012 Dumpster Dive Race!

Location:

Mt Work Hartland CRD Regional Park.
Victoria B.C.

Course Description:

The course is the same as the past 5 years, with some small improvements thanks to the SIMBS Trail crew.  Expect 90% singletrack and 90% descending but don’t expect to win on a downhill bike.
This course is ideal for a 6″ all-mountain bike. Times will range from 9-15+ minutes. There are no shuttles! You need to get yourself to the top of the course. The climb will range from 20-30 minutes. Course Starts at the top of
Jelly Roll.  Trails include Jelly Roll, Lumpy pants, up the fire road to Who’s yer Daddy, Night Shift, down the fire road to Short Cut and into the back of the TTA.

NEW this year will be electronic chip timing performed by Race Day Timing.  This will ensure accurate and fast timing results.  To make this happen we will have mandatory online registration. » Read more: 2012 Dumpster Dive Race!

Where: Hartland, registration at the bottom of Torpedo run 6pm. Start 6:30pm.

Details: SIMBS would like to invite you to join SIMBS for the Torpedo Run Throwdown on Tuesday June 14th. Registration starts at 6:00 at the bottom of Torpedo run and the event starts at 6:30 (ish). This event is free for SIMBS members and a great time to renew your membership if it has lapsed ($10 students, $20 individuals, $35 family) We aim to make this a fun membership oriented event that will run for 2 hours and showcase the most popular trail at Hartland. Lots of random prizes and preams. Hope to see you there!
